The BossArea Decoder is an app that can decode any Roland or Boss serial number into a production date. This is the decoder that was previously published on www.bossarea.com.
The decoder will accept 4 or 5 digit serial numbers as found on early Boss compact pedals, 6 digit serial numbers as used on Roland and Boss gear during the 1980s and 7 digit serial numbers containing two letters as used from 1989 until today.
